About

To paraphrase from a Douglas Adams classic, “Neil’s just this guy, you know?”

Neil was born in Liverpool, England in 1965.  As childhood gave way to spotty adolescence, he pursued an academic career in mathematics and astrophysics (studying for a BSc at Leicester University and researching for a PhD at Keele University) whilst simultaneously having his ears trained by the late, great and much-missed John Peel and learning the exhilarations and frustrations of being a follower of Liverpool FC.  He forged a career in the European space industry and co-founded Dandelion Radio, where he still DJs.  In recent years he’s got into other stuff, such as road cycling and worrying about the state of the world and the people who populate it.

All of the above will, no doubt, reflect what rubbish he writes on this blog of his, but knowing him there’s no telling what topic he’ll pick up and run with.  His only hope is that when he expresses any opinions, they are based on knowledge (if only perceived) rather than ignorance.
